FreeType font engine

For OEMs seeking less powerful, open source font rendering support, there is the FreeType font rendering engine. Unlike the iType font engine, which includes advanced features like text layout, font compression and graphics processing, FreeType basic font engine for embedded devices.

All fonts offered by Monotype Imaging may be licensed for use with FreeType. Monotype Imaging works with software and hardware developers who choose to integrate FreeType into their product and require high quality fonts in a variety of rendering formats including black & white, grayscale, and sub-pixel for LCD. We work with developers to fine tune fonts for their display requirements - no matter how specific.
