Tegic Teams with Font Leader Ascender to Provide Increased Value to T9 Embedded Messaging Software

Ascender’s focus on small-screen readability and multilingual capabilities and T9 software’s widespread use offer benefits for both companies

SEATTLE – February 22, 2007 – Ascender Corp., a leading provider of advanced font products and recognized experts in tuning fonts for on-screen display, and Tegic Communications, Inc., an AOL company and leading provider of enabling software for mobile data services including the popular T9® Text Input, today announced a partnership allowing Tegic to utilize Ascender fonts.

The Ascender-Tegic partnership will allow Tegic to distribute a limited number of Ascender fonts as part of demonstrations and evaluations to potential customers and licensees of T9® software. The Ascender font software complements the existing functionality of Tegic’s T9® Text Input, XT9™ Mobile Interface, and T9® Text Output text editing and rendering software and will allow Tegic’s OEM partners to offer a more complete solution from input to output.

Tegic’s T9 software, which has been shipped to over 2 billion users worldwide, offers advanced alphabet- and character-based text input prediction in 62 languages to help users of text-enabled mobile phones and feature-rich smartphones to more easily use mobile messaging, email, search, browsing and more.
