Guy has 20 years of experience in font development and production. He began his career as a draughtsman at Monotype's UK office, where he learned how to edit bitmaps on early Macs and hand digitize original type drawings into outline fonts using the Ikarus system. Guy developed and enhanced his skills and was involved in the development of the original Windows 3.1 fonts. With a keen eye for design and an analytical mind for mathematical problem solving Guy has worked with an array of different tools to develop high quality fonts in nearly every production environment including TrueType, ClearType, Type 1, Multiple Master and a multitude of bitmap formats. In recent years Guy has been a frontline technician in the world of TrueType, working alongside Tom Rickner. Guy has probably hinted more italic fonts than any other type engineer. He worked with a range of customers and developed custom branding fonts for corporations including Barclays, British Airways, Lexmark, Microsoft, Nokia, Opel and Waitrose. Guy lives in the village of Felpham, on the south coast of the United Kingdom and is Ascender’s first employee in Europe. About Ascender Corp: Contact:
