PRESS RELEASE New Partners Join Ascender CorporationApril 14, 2004 Ascender Corporation, a new business specializing in font development, licensing and intellectual property protection today announced the addition of four new partners to the company. The new partners bring skills in software engineering, product management, sales, finance and business development. "These talented individuals round out our group of founding partners" said Ira Mirochnick, one of the company founders. "We have tremendous respect for each of these individuals and are enthusiastic about the enhanced expertise that Ascender will now offer its customers." The four new partners are: Joshua Hadley has an extensive background in computer programming, type design and printing. Josh will expand Ascender’s font development team and help devise techniques and tools that enable the creation and testing of complex fonts. Brian Kraimer has over 20 years experience in font development and print production. Brian understands the challenges of designing, producing and testing font software in a variety of languages and formats for display on-screen and in print. Brian brings a diverse business background and offers Ascender’s customers valuable expertise in the development of complex language or corporate identity font solutions. Steve Kuhlman began his career at Apple Computer and for the past fifteen years has been licensing fonts and font technology. Steve was most recently Agfa Monotype’s vice president and general manager of Display Imaging where he led the team responsible for all aspects of the business targeted at software and hardware developers including devices such as phones, PDAs and TVs. David Carroll has a diverse background in strategic planning, finance, accounting and operations. David was most recently the executive vice president and chief financial officer for Talent Partners, a leading payroll service and consulting firm for the advertising industry.
