Johannes Birkenbach to lead sales & marketing for Ascender in Germany
ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL - January 22, 2008 - Ascender Corporation, a leading provider of advanced font products, today announced that it has extended its European presence with the appointment of Johannes Birkenbach to its sales and marketing team in Germany. Johannes Birkenbach is an accomplished type development professional and businessman with more than 25 years experience in the font and typesetting industries. He will work with Ascender’s European customers to provide font development and licensing support. Johannes, known as "John" to his English-speaking friends, has an extensive background in developing font software. He began his career with D. Stempel AG in 1983 drawing typefaces and moved to digital typeface design and development while working at Linotype in Germany and then Monotype in the UK. Since 1994 Johannes has operated his own design studio and has worked with the Ascender team since 2004 on many font projects. John will work from his office in Germany.
