Plate Gothic® Two Four

Plate Gothic Two Four

Plate Gothic Two Four Italic

Plate Gothic Two Four Bold
Description
Plate Gothic, released by the Monotype Type Drawing Office in 1921, was modeled on Frederic W. Goudy's turn-of-the-century Copperplate Gothics for American Type Founders. These types contain only capitals, but come in titling and caps/small cap versions in a range of weights and sizes. In homage to the elegant (and expensive!) technique of engraving business cards and stationery, Plate Gothic was decorated by tiny nib serifs designed to mimic the use of an engraver's tool. These clean and open types, with their generous spacing, are suited to a wide range of text and display applications. Not just for attorneys and accountants, Plate Gothic is seen in magazines, fine books, advertising, and film titles.
