Most of the Microsoft Core Fonts feature pan-European WGL support, and some also offer Arabic, Hebrew and Thai. Ascender also offers an extensive range of non-Roman fonts from Microsoft. Please contact us to learn more.
Core Font Alternatives
In addition to Arial & Times New Roman, Ascender is proud to offer two new font families designed by Ascender's Steve Matteson to serve as innovative, functional equivalents. The Ascender Sans & Ascender Serif fonts are metrically compatible with Arial & Times New Roman. But the key difference is that Ascender Sans & Serif feature a refreshing design style with improved on-screen readability characteristics.

Ascender Sans & Serif solves the needs of developers looking for width-compatible fonts to address document portability across platforms. These new fonts are available in the OpenType font format with the pan-European WGL character set. Please contact us for more information on Ascender’s fonts for Windows compatibility.
