Ascender Charities - 2008 Ecuador trip

Ascender was proud to sponsor the Kraimer family on a trip to Ecuador in 2008 to build a playground for school children. Their trip was organized by Kids Around the World.

Letter from Ellie (14 years old), Brianne and Cassidy (12 years old) who spent 10 days in Ecuador building two swing sets in remote areas of the country.

Dear Ascender Guys,

On behalf of all the kids that we helped in Ecuador and from everyone who came, we thank you so much for your kind donation to help children in Ecuador! We had a great time there and you made it possible for 2 brand new swing sets to be built. We met great people that really appreciated the gift.

We wish you could have seen and experienced how happy the kids were when they could finally swing and play. It changed their lives to know that somebody else in the world really does care for them. It also changed our perspective on life and how much a simple swing set can help these people when a simple thing like that doesn’t seem like a big difference in our lives.

We all made new friends and people we hope to see again. For example Ellie’s very special Ruby, who was a very nice and loving 4 year old girl. Even though they didn’t speak the same language, they made a great bond. Ellie will never forget her. Cassie also met someone she still remembers. Her name was Ru and was one of Cassie’s little buddies who always found a way onto Cassie’s back. And Brianne met a little boy who had a crush on her, who was like her shadow but in the end he was a very funny and cool friend that she already misses.

Overall our family really treasures this experience and thanks you for all of your help and thoughtfulness.
